IS IT FEBRUARY ALREADY?!

Between Thanksgiving, Christmas, a ski trip, two year old birthday party, office revamp, unexpected snowstorm and various illnesses we have been a bit swamped! Our poor blog is the first thing to be neglected when the PWD workload gets hectic but we promise to be more consistent bloggers in 2014.

In December, Parrish Watson Design hosted a winter wreath workshop inspired by the chartreuse moss wreath featured in Southern Living magazine:

We posted a photo of the wreath on our Instagram account and were surprised at the overwhelming feedback it received.  Soon, we had people asking us how to make the moss wreath and if we'd consider hosting a workshop.  We recruited our talented friend, Elizabeth, from Spider Lily Designs to teach everyone how to recreate this wreath for the holidays.

Elizabeth patiently taught fifteen ladies (while 8 months pregnant, no less!) how to layer different mosses on a straw form with glue guns and pins to achieve a lush look.

Each attendee was able to personalize their wreath with different ribbon and they learned how to make the perfect knot and bow.  From ivory satin to burlap to plaid, each wreath was unique and chic!  Click HERE to see how Mary Catherine from Cotton + Quill styled her finished product and HERE for a step by step image of the wreath created by Stacey from SHMorganizing.  Guests left with a golden snowflake ornament tied with chartreuse ribbon to show our appreciation for being a part of our first workshop.

A picture of us even appeared on the Southern Living Instagram account!

We had a fabulous time at the workshop and plan to offer more events in 2014.  If you have an idea or a specific request for a workshop, please email us at parrishwatsondesign@gmail.com.
